Seth is sleeping now. He is going to his first birthday party later today. We are still having difficulties getting him to not poop in his underwear when he is home. Susan bought a whole bunch of toys as rewards for Seth if he could go the entire day without an accident, but Seth has yet to get one.

Some lady ran into my Jeep while I was coming home from work yesterday. I am OK, but I am upset about the damage to the Jeep. The only good part of the ordeal is that it’s her fault.

A seth milestone, and a bad pun

Seth pointed to the meat locker on West 12th street with the cow on top yesterday, and said that it was silly. He then wanted to know what would happen if the cow fell off. I told him it would then be ground beef. Seth didn’t get it.

Tonight Seth went into the bathroom and pooped on his potty all by himself. He has peed by himself a few times, and he has peed standing up as well, but this was the first time he pooped without help. I still had to do the paperwork though.

watching the birds (and the rabbits) eat the birdseed we put out in the feeders. It’s a good motivator to get him up in the mornings. Today he peed twice in his potty standing up, and last Sunday he peed sitting down on a big toilet at Hy-Vee.

Some birdseed in the bird feeders a couple days ago, and Seth wanted to know what the different birds were called, so I told him there were blackbirds, mourning doves and sparrows. Tonight Seth wanted me to see that there was a mourning dud eating birdseed.

What an interesting day

When I woke up this morning it was 67 degrees in the house. At first I thought it was because I forgot to change the time on the thermostat for daylight savings, but when the heat still didn’t come on after changing the time I knew something else was wrong. So I went downstairs to look at the furnace. Yep, the big magic box was still there. The repair guy came out at 8 to look at it and said there was some gunk gumming up the whatchacallit valve in the doohicky assembly. Exactly what my diagnosis was!

When I left work today the thermometer in the jeep said it was 80 degrees, so I picked Seth up from daycare and we went to Sertoma Park. Seth had lots of fun playing on the playground equipment.
